Vinarija Čitluk Hercego Žilavka, Bosnian Wine 750ml (25.4fl oz)
Vinarija Čitluk Hercego Žilavka — a Bosnian Herzegovinian dry white built on Žilavka, the country's signature indigenous grape. Crisp, mineral, and distinctly Herzegovinian; the table wine of Mostar and the Mostar valley.
Heritage: Žilavka is the iconic indigenous white grape of Herzegovina, grown on the karst-rocky soils around Mostar and the surrounding river valleys. The grape's name comes from žila (vein), referring to the prominent leaf venation. Vinarija Čitluk, founded in 1949, has been a regional anchor of Herzegovinian Žilavka production. The Hercego label denotes the winery's Herzegovinian-region-specific bottling.
Tasting notes: Pale straw with green hints. Crisp orchard fruit and citrus on the nose with a distinctive mineral edge from the karst limestone soils. Medium-bodied palate with bright acidity and a clean stony finish.
Pairing: Serve well chilled. Excellent with Adriatic seafood, traditional Bosnian dishes, ćevapi, or aged sheep's-milk cheese.
Pack: 750ml glass bottle. Store upright in a cool, dark place.
