π In short
We're committed to making our online store usable for everyone β including customers who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or assistive technology. We're following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. If anything on our site is hard for you to use, please contact us at info@hamiltoneuromarkets.com β we'll fix it and help you with your order.

Our commitment
Hamilton Euromarket believes that the taste of home should be accessible to every member of our community β including customers with visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive disabilities. We design and maintain our online store to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust, in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
What we've built in
Keyboard navigation β every interactive element on the site is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone (Tab, Enter, Space, arrow keys).
Skip-to-content link β at the top of every page, allowing screen reader users to bypass the navigation and jump directly to main content.
Alt text on product images β over 2,800 product images carry descriptive alt text so screen readers can communicate what each product is.
Visible focus rings β when navigating by keyboard, the current focused element is clearly highlighted.
Semantic HTML structure β properly nested headings, landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer), and ARIA labels on icons.
Color contrast β our color palette has been chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios.
Resizable text β the layout adapts when users zoom or increase their browser font size up to 200%.
Form labels β all forms include explicit labels associated with their inputs.
No motion traps β animations and carousels do not auto-advance in ways that prevent reading.
Tested with
VoiceOver (macOS, iOS)
NVDA (Windows)
Chrome and Firefox keyboard-only navigation
Browser zoom up to 200%
Mobile responsive layouts on iOS and Android
Known limitations
We're a small business and our online store is a continuous work in progress. Some areas where we're still improving:
Older product images imported during catalog migration may have generic alt text β we're patching these monthly.
Some third-party apps (chat widgets, review apps) may not fully conform to WCAG AA; we evaluate accessibility before installing new apps but cannot always guarantee compliance.
PDFs and downloadable documents may not yet be fully tagged for screen readers β please contact us and we'll provide alternative formats.
