Favorit Oblande are large, crisp Serbian wafer sheets — the blank canvas that diaspora bakers layer with hazelnut cream, chocolate spread, or walnut-and-honey filling to build the traditional oblande torta that appears on every Balkan grandmother's dessert table at slava, New Year's, and family celebrations. Favorit is a long-established Serbian confectionery house whose wafer sheets have been a standard pantry baking ingredient across the former Yugoslav market since the latter half of the 20th century, supplying the home baker rather than the industrial line. The oblande torta is as much technique as recipe: spreads are smoothed thin over each sheet, layers are pressed evenly, and the whole stack is weighted overnight in the fridge before being cut into the crisp bars that hold their shape on the platter.
