Heritage: Moldova has been making wine for over five thousand years and remains one of the world's top per-capita wine exporters. Merlot has been cultivated alongside indigenous varieties since French varietal introductions in the nineteenth century, with the local semi-dry style favored at the regional table.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Velvety texture with inviting plum and subtle spice notes. Medium-bodied palate with smooth tannins and a clean finish.
Pairing: Serve at cellar temperature. Excellent with rich stews, aged cheeses, sarmale, or grilled chicken.
