St. Bull's Blood Egri Bikavér — Hungary's flagship dry red, the legendary Bull's Blood blend from the Eger wine region. Dark fruit, firm spice, and the robust structure that gave the style its mythic name.
Heritage: Egri Bikavér — Eger Bull's Blood — is one of Europe's most famous wine names, dating to a sixteenth-century legend in which red-stained Hungarian defenders of Eger castle drank the local red to terrify the besieging Ottoman troops. The blend traditionally combines Kadarka with Kékfrankos and other indigenous Hungarian grapes.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Dark fruit, firm spice, and a hint of dried herb on the nose. Full-bodied palate with structured tannins and a long finish.
Pairing: Serve at cellar temperature. Excellent with goulash, sausage platters, paprikás csirke, aged hard cheese, or game stews.
Pack: 750ml glass bottle. Store on its side in a cool, dark place; decant 30 minutes before serving.
