Zheltaya Bochka Kvas 1.5 L
Zheltaya Bochka Kvas — a traditional Slavic fermented beverage made from rye bread, with a distinct dark-bread aroma and gentle malty character. Refreshing, slightly effervescent, and lightly tart; the Eastern European summer drink.
Heritage: Kvas — also spelled kvass — has been a Slavic household beverage for over a thousand years, traditionally brewed from stale rye bread, sugar, and yeast. Modern commercial kvas like Zheltaya Bochka (Yellow Barrel) preserves the dark-bread tradition at industrial scale. Kvas is typically very low in alcohol, consumed as a refreshment rather than as an alcoholic drink.
Tasting notes: Dark amber color. Pronounced dark-bread aroma with subtle malty sweetness. Lightly effervescent palate; refreshing, slightly tart finish.
Pairing: Serve chilled, straight from the bottle. Excellent with savory snacks, summer salads, or alongside light Slavic lunch dishes like okroshka.
Pack: 1.5L bottle. Store cold once opened; consume fresh.
