Carpathian Linden Honey 650g (22.93oz)

Carpathian Linden Honey is a 650g jar of monofloral linden (tilia/basswood) honey from the Carpathian mountain and foothills region — one of the most intact linden-tree environments in Europe, spanning the borderlands of Ukraine, Poland, and Romania — providing the distinctively light, delicately floral, slightly minty honey that the linden tree produces during its brief but intense June-and-July flowering. Linden honey (miod lipowy in Polish, lypovyi med in Ukrainian) from the Carpathian region is one of the most prized monofloral honey varieties in the Central and Eastern European honey tradition: the linden tree (Tilia cordata) produces a nectar with characteristic light-amber colour, high moisture content, and a unique floral-minty fragrance that distinguishes linden honey from darker or more robust varieties, and the Carpathian region produces linden honey in the ecologically clean mountain conditions that the best artisan beekeepers seek out. Linden honey holds a central place in the Eastern European honey tradition and natural remedy culture: the lipovyi med or liepų medus is associated in Ukrainian, Polish, Latvian, and Lithuanian folk tradition with soothing and warming properties, and is the honey traditionally dissolved in warm tea or warm milk for the winter table and the cold-weather evening preparation. Dissolve in warm tea or warm milk as the classic Carpathian linden honey preparation, spread on fresh bread as the monofloral linden honey for the morning table, use in baking where the distinctive linden floral note is welcome, or give as the 650g jar of Carpathian linden honey to the honey enthusiast who appreciates quality Eastern European monofloral varieties.
