Badel Komovica — a Croatian grape pomace rakija from Badel 1862, Croatia's oldest distillery. Distilled from the pressed grape skins of Dalmatian and continental harvests; the Croatian cousin of Italian grappa.
Heritage: Badel 1862 — founded in Zagreb in 1862 — is Croatia's oldest continuously operating drinks company and the gold standard of Croatian spirits. Komovica (from komine — pomace) is the rakija distilled from grape skins and pulp left after wine pressing, yielding a clear, grape-forward eau-de-vie that captures Croatia's wine-country terroir in spirit form.
Tasting notes: Crystal-clear. Bright grape pomace nose with hints of dried herb and stone. Crisp, dry palate; clean grape-driven finish with gentle warmth.
Pairing: Serve neat at room temperature as a digestif, or chilled in summer. Excellent with pršut, aged Paški sir, dried figs, or alongside Turkish coffee.
