Badel 1862 Pelješac Plavac Mali, Croatian Red Wine 750ml (25.4fl oz)
Badel 1862 Pelješac Plavac Mali — Croatia's iconic Dalmatian red, bottled by the country's flagship spirits-and-wine house. Robust cherry and plum character; the structured indigenous red of the Pelješac peninsula in a Badel 1862 cuvée.
Heritage: Badel 1862 has been making spirits and wine in Zagreb since 1862, and its Plavac Mali bottling sources from the Pelješac peninsula — the narrow Dalmatian finger between Split and Dubrovnik where Plavac Mali (parent of California Zinfandel via the Crljenak Kaštelanski lineage) has been cultivated for centuries.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Robust cherry and ripe plum on the nose with Mediterranean herb edge. Full-bodied palate with grippy tannins and a long structured finish.
Pairing: Decant for an hour before serving at cellar temperature. Classic with grilled lamb, pašticada, aged Paški sir, or Slavonian kulen.
Pack: 750ml glass bottle. Store on its side in a cool, dark place.
