About Rubin AD
Rubin AD — the legal name of the producer better known on its bottles as simply **Rubin** or **Rubin Vinjak** — is one of the most recognized producers of wine and grape brandy in the Balkans. The Kruševac, Serbia-based joint-stock company was founded in 1955 as a regional fruit-and-wine combine and grew into a vertically integrated estate: 1,200 hectares of vineyards across 19 locations, their own cooperage, and their own bottling. The company's flagship is Vinjak, the Serbian grape brandy that became a household name across Yugoslavia and remains the reference point for the style today. Rubin's vertical integration — vineyards, cooperage, distillery, bottling — is unusual in the region and underwrites their consistency across decades. Vinjak was developed in the late 1950s as a Yugoslav answer to cognac, distilled from wine and matured in oak. Across the former Yugoslavia, "Vinjak" effectively means "Rubin Vinjak" — the brand and the category are intertwined. Headquarters: Kruševac, Serbia. Founded 1955. Official site: rubin.rs/en.
