The foil-wrapped snack cake was the treat tucked into every school bag across the Balkans, banana cream inside a chocolate shell. Made by Makprogres, the family company behind Vincinni since 1990 in Vinica, North Macedonia, this 250g (8.81oz) cake layers a wheat-and-egg sponge (60%) with banana-flavored cream (20%) and a cocoa coating (20%); it contains wheat, egg, soy, and milk, and may contain traces of hazelnut. Eat it straight from the wrapper as an on-the-go snack. Pair it with a small cup of Turkish coffee for an afternoon break.
