Rubin Prokupac 2021 — Rubin AD's dry expression of Serbia's most distinctive indigenous red grape. Earthy mineral character with sour cherry and forest-floor notes; the modern Prokupac face from Kruševac.
Heritage: Prokupac is Serbia's signature indigenous red grape, grown in the central and southern regions where wine has been made since Roman times. Rubin AD has been working in Kruševac since 1955, and its single-varietal Prokupac bottlings anchor the modern revival of the variety.
Tasting notes: Bright ruby color. Sour cherry, blackberry, and a hint of forest floor on the nose. Medium-bodied palate with earthy mineral character and a clean fruit finish.
Pairing: Decant for an hour before serving at cellar temperature. Excellent with hearty stews, roasted lamb, sarma, or aged hard cheese.
Pack: 750ml glass bottle. Vintage 2021. Store on its side in a cool, dark place.
