Heritage: Mühlhäuser is a German producer of fruit syrups, jams, and beverage preparations rooted in the central European tradition of concentrated fruit drinks. Himbeere — German for raspberry — names the variety in this bottle: pressed and reduced raspberry preserved with sugar into a deeply red syrup that travels equally well into Sodawasser, Sekt, or atop ice cream.
Tasting notes: Brilliant raspberry-red. Bright fresh-raspberry nose. Sweet concentrated palate with the tart-bright pull of the fruit; clean fruit finish.
Pairing: Dilute with sparkling water for Himbeerwasser, add to Sekt for a Berliner Weisse mit Schuss, or drizzle over vanilla ice cream, pancakes, and yogurt.
