Loumidis Foods began in 1920 when three brothers opened a general store in the Port of Piraeus, Athens, where they sold their own Loumidis brand of coffee. This coffee quickly became a household name, instantly recognizable by its parrot logo. Today, the youngest generation of the Loumidis family continues this tradition, bringing Greece’s best brand names in food, including their premium coffee, to the North American market. For the Balkan/Eastern European diaspora in California, Loumidis represents a taste of home and a connection to Greek culinary traditions.
