Tikveš Kavadarka — a dry Macedonian red from the country's largest historic winery, named for the village of Kavadarci at the heart of the Tikveš region. Soft, fruit-forward, and food-friendly; an everyday Balkan red.
Heritage: Tikveš has been making wine since 1885 in the Tikveš region around Kavadarci — a sun-baked basin in the central south of North Macedonia where winemaking dates to antiquity. The Kavadarka label is named directly for the town that sits at the wine region's heart.
Tasting notes: Ruby color. Ripe red fruit on the nose with a touch of dried herb. Medium-bodied palate with smooth tannins and a balanced finish.
Pairing: Serve at cellar temperature. Excellent with grilled meats, kebapi, šopska salad, ajvar with sirene, or moussaka.
Pack: 750ml glass bottle. Store on its side in a cool, dark place.
