Tohani Mosia de la Tohani Shiraz 2023 — a Romanian dry red from the Tohani winery, built on Shiraz, vintage 2023. Bold, spicy, and structured; Syrah/Shiraz rendered with Subcarpathian Romanian terroir.
Heritage: Tohani Winery sits in Romania's Dealu Mare wine region, one of the country's most established quality wine areas in the Subcarpathian foothills. The Mosia de la Tohani (Estate of Tohani) lineup bottles the winery's estate-tier wines. Shiraz — the same grape as Syrah — has become an increasingly important international varietal in Romanian production.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Dark fruit and black pepper on the nose with a hint of dried herb. Full-bodied palate with structured tannins and a long spicy finish.
Pairing: Serve at cellar temperature. Excellent with grilled red meats, lamb dishes, sarmale, or aged hard cheese.
