Terra Madre Plavac Mali Komarna 2016 — a structured red from one of Croatia's newest Dalmatian appellations. Plavac Mali grown on the steep, sun-drenched slopes of the Komarna peninsula, just inland from Pelješac.
Heritage: Komarna gained protected designation status in 2007 — Croatia's newest official wine region, established to recognize the distinctive terroir of the Pelješac-adjacent peninsula. The steep limestone slopes and Adriatic exposure produce concentrated Plavac Mali with marked dark-fruit character.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Robust blackberry, dark cherry, and Mediterranean herb notes on the nose. Full-bodied palate with structured tannins and a long, spice-edged finish.
Pairing: Decant for an hour before serving at cellar temperature. Classic with lamb peka, pašticada, aged Paški sir, or grilled prosciutto.
Pack: 750ml glass bottle. Vintage 2016. Store on its side in a cool, dark place.
