Pomorie Muskatova — a Bulgarian Muscat-grape rakija from the Pomorie wine region on the Black Sea coast. Pronounced floral-grape aromatics; the aromatic Bulgarian Muscat distillate at its most expressive.
Heritage: Pomorie, on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast, is one of the country's most historic wine and brandy regions, with viticulture dating to ancient Thracian times. The Muskatova variant of grozdova rakija captures the aromatic intensity of Muscat grapes in distilled form; Pomorie's Black Sea-coast vineyards give the distillate a distinctly maritime-mineral lift.
Tasting notes: Crystal-clear. Pronounced Muscat aroma with orange-blossom and floral aromatics. Smooth, gently warming palate; clean aromatic finish with floral persistence.
Pairing: Serve neat at room temperature as a digestif. Excellent with meze platters, dried fruit and nuts, sirene cheese, or after a heavy meal.
