Elbrauer Das Bock — a German strong lager in the centuries-old bock tradition. Rich malt character, deeper alcohol warmth than table lager, and the contemplative pace of beer made for slow sipping.
Heritage: Bock originated in the German town of Einbeck in the 14th century and was later refined by Bavarian monks during Lenten fasting, when liquid was permitted but solid food was not. The style is defined by extended brewing time, higher alcohol than standard lager, and a fuller, malt-forward body.
Tasting notes: Deep amber color. Rich malt, toasted caramel, and a hint of dark fruit on the nose. Full-bodied palate with controlled warmth and a clean, smooth finish.
Pairing: Serve cool. Excellent with roasted meats, sausage platters, aged cheese, or after a heavy meal as a digestif beer.
