Valjevska Pivara, established in 1860 by merchant Dimitrije Mitrović in Valjevo, Serbia, boasts a long and storied history in Balkan brewing. Initially a barrel-making workshop, the company evolved into a joint-stock company by 1891 and began industrial beer production in 1910 with the introduction of steam engines. After nationalization post-WWII, it continuously expanded its capacity and product range, eventually returning to private ownership in 2019 under Brauerei Group. For the Balkan diaspora in California, Valjevska Pivara represents a taste of home, offering beloved beers like Valjevsko Pivo that evoke nostalgia and tradition.
