Varancha Merlot Reserve — a Moldovan red built from one of Eastern Europe's classic Black Sea-influenced wine regions. Soft, velvety, and lightly off-dry; the Reserve bottling shows a touch more concentration and oak than entry-level Varancha bottlings.
Heritage: Moldova has been making wine for over 5,000 years and today exports more wine per capita than nearly any country in the world. The Codru and Ștefan Vodă regions produce Bordeaux varieties — Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fetească Neagră — that combine Old World structure with ripe Black Sea fruit.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby with a soft garnet rim. Black cherry, blackcurrant, and a hint of tea leaf on the nose. Medium-bodied palate, balanced acidity, gentle tannins, and a clean fruit-driven finish.
Pairing: Serve at cellar temperature. Excellent with lamb, sarmale, beef stew, hard sheep's-milk cheeses, or grilled vegetables in olive oil.
Pack: 750ml glass bottle. Store on its side in a cool, dark place; decant 30 minutes before serving if possible.
