Mackays is a Scottish jam and marmalade brand with a rich history dating back to 1938 when the Mackay brothers converted a carrot processing facility into a jam-making factory. They sourced berries from local fields in Carnoustie, Eastern Scotland, and sold their products locally. Today, Mackays continues to craft their preserves the authentic way in small batches and copper pans, now from a state-of-the-art facility in Arbroath. While perhaps not a traditional Balkan brand, their dedication to quality fruit preserves like marmalades and chutneys offers a familiar taste of home that resonates with the diaspora's appreciation for wholesome, traditional foods.
