Baba Višnja Cherry Liqueur, Serbian Fruit Brandy 700ml (23.7fl oz)

Baba Višnja — a Serbian sour cherry liqueur named for grandmother's home recipe. Deep ruby color with the unmistakable tart-sweet pull of Šumadija sour cherries macerated in spirit.

Heritage: Višnja — the dark Morello sour cherry — is the queen of Balkan orchard fruit, prized for the brilliant tart-red juice that takes beautifully to maceration. "Baba" — grandmother — names the homestead tradition: a glass jar of cherries and rakija left to macerate from summer into autumn, then strained and bottled for the slava table and Christmas Eve.

Tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Pronounced sour cherry on the nose with hints of cherry stone and almond. Smooth, sweet-tart palate with a clean fruit-driven finish; gently warming.

Pairing: Serve chilled in a cordial glass as a digestif, or over crushed ice. Excellent with vanilla sladoled, walnut povitica, dark chocolate, or alongside Turkish coffee.
