Heritage: Amaro — Italian for bitter — is the broader Mediterranean herbal-liqueur tradition, with regional variations across Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia. Darna's Amaro Istria draws on the Istrian peninsula's botanical heritage, infusing a careful selection of local Mediterranean herbs and roots into the spirit base. Darna has been bottling Istrian liqueurs in Rovinj since 1925.
Tasting notes: Deep amber-brown color. Complex herbal aromatics with notes of dried herbs, citrus peel, and gentian root. Bittersweet palate with structured herbal depth; long warming finish.
Pairing: Serve at room temperature, neat or over ice with a citrus twist. Excellent after a heavy Istrian meal as a digestif, with dark chocolate, or alongside espresso.
