Obolon Zhygulivske Export Lager Beer, Ukrainian 500ml (16.9fl oz)
Obolon Zhygulivske Export Lager β a Ukrainian pale lager in the historic Zhiguli style, brewed by one of Ukraine's most established breweries. Crisp, balanced, and traditional; the post-Soviet space's most enduring lager recipe.
Heritage: Zhigulevskoye β Zhygulivske in Ukrainian β was the most-produced beer style across the Soviet Union, first developed in the 1930s and brewed under license at hundreds of breweries from East Germany to Vladivostok. The style anchors the post-Soviet beer canon. Obolon, founded in Kyiv in 1980, has been one of independent Ukraine's flagship breweries, bottling Zhygulivske in the classic export style.
Tasting notes: Bright gold with a thick white head. Soft malt and grain bread on the nose with a balanced hop edge. Crisp, refreshing palate; clean dry finish.
Pairing: Serve cold. Classic with varenyky, borsch, smoked fish, salo on rye, or grilled sausage.
Pack: 500ml bottle. Store cold; consume fresh.
