Kakhuri Gvinis Marani — a Georgian dry red from Kakheti, the country's largest and most historic wine region in the South Caucasus. Rich, structured, and ancient; wine from the country credited with eight thousand years of continuous viticulture.
Heritage: Kakheti, in eastern Georgia, is widely regarded as the birthplace of wine — archaeological evidence places winemaking here at least 8,000 years ago. Kakhuri Gvinis Marani — Cellar of Kakhetian Wine — bottles in this deep tradition, working with indigenous Georgian grapes that have no parallel in the Western European varietal canon.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Concentrated dark fruit on the nose with earthy and slightly smoky undertones. Full-bodied palate with structured tannins and a long savory finish.
Pairing: Serve at cellar temperature. Excellent with khinkali, khachapuri, grilled lamb, walnut-based Georgian dishes, or aged cheese.
