Eibauer Das Bock — a German bock-style strong lager built on the malty character that defines the German bock tradition. Rich, warming, and complex; beer made for slow sipping rather than casual quenching.
Heritage: Bock originated in the German town of Einbeck in the fourteenth century and was later refined by Bavarian monks during Lenten fasting, when liquid was permitted but solid food was not. The style is defined by extended brewing time, higher alcohol than standard lager, and a fuller, malt-forward body.
Tasting notes: Deep amber color. Rich malt, toasted caramel, and a hint of dark fruit on the nose. Full-bodied palate with controlled warmth and a clean smooth finish.
Pairing: Serve cool. Excellent with roasted meats, sausage platters, aged cheese, or as a digestif beer after a heavy meal.
