Heritage: Plavac Lučić is a boutique winery on the Pelješac peninsula, the narrow Dalmatian finger between Split and Dubrovnik. The family estate is dedicated entirely to Plavac Mali, the indigenous red grape that gave Dalmatia its winemaking identity.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Robust dark fruit on the nose with Mediterranean herbs and a touch of maritime salinity. Full-bodied palate with grippy tannins and a long, structured finish.
Pairing: Decant before serving at cellar temperature. Classic with grilled lamb, peka-roasted meats, aged Paški sir, or Slavonian kulen.
