Caucasus Valley Alazani Valley — a Georgian semi-sweet red built around the indigenous Saperavi grape, grown in the country's eastern Kakheti wine region. Soft, fruit-forward, and just sweet enough to make it an easy pour for guests who don't drink dry.
Heritage: The Alazani Valley in Kakheti is the heartland of Georgian winemaking, where grape cultivation goes back several thousand years. Saperavi is one of the country's most planted reds, prized for deep color and ripe-berry character.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby with a violet rim. Black cherry, ripe forest berry, and a faint hint of dried fig on the nose. Round, gently sweet palate balanced by lively acidity and a clean, fruit-driven finish.
Pairing: Serve lightly chilled. Excellent with dessert courses — walnut churchkhela, honey cake, or fresh cherries — or as an aperitif on a warm evening.
